Fujitsu ScanSnap S500M

ScanSnap S500M is designed specially for Macintosh users, offering a complete desktop solution. By a press of a button the documents are scanned and converted to standard PDF files, in black and white or colour, single or double sided.

To make the scanning simple, ScanSnap S500M automatically detects if a document should be output in black and white or colour, the size of the page scanned, eliminate blank pages, and correct (deskew) misaligned text. With the included Adobe Acrobat software also the text orientation may be automatically adjusted. These functions combined result in efficiency and minimum file sizes reducing storage space and network transfer time.

The scanning speed is 18 documents per minute at 150 dpi resolution, A4 size, single or double sided, black and white or colour. Maximum output resolution is 600 dpi. The document feeder can hold up to 50 documents. In case you want to edit your images you may also output the scanned documents in JPG format, the most common colour compression standard.

ScanSnap S500M is delivered with ScanSnap Manager driver and Adobe Acrobat full version, including Adobe Text recognition (OCR) creating text-searchable PDF files, and Adobe Organizer finding and identifying PDF files quick and easy.

ScanSnap S500M is easily connected through the standard USB 2.0 interface.

Note that although ScanSnap S500M uses the standard USB interface it is not TWAIN or ISIS compatible, but uses its own unique ScanSnap Manager driver.
